Dialpad GoHighLevel Integration: Complete 2026 Guide

Last updated: September 2026

Dialpad can work with GoHighLevel, but its architecture differs from providers that currently offer a listed GoHighLevel CTI connector.

As of September 2026, we did not find a Dialpad-published native GoHighLevel integration in Dialpad’s current App Marketplace, and HighLevel’s public Dialpad phone-integration request is still marked under review. That does not mean the platforms cannot work together. It means businesses should use the connection method that matches what they actually want to accomplish.

Short answer
The most practical Dialpad + GoHighLevel setups today are external call routing, APIs/webhooks, verified existing-number outbound calling, and staged migration. Do not treat a third-party or custom workflow as if Dialpad has become HighLevel’s native phone carrier.

For many businesses, the best architecture is to keep Dialpad for day-to-day calling while routing selected calls into HighLevel for Voice AI and CRM automation. More advanced teams can also use Dialpad’s APIs and real-time call events to synchronize call activity with HighLevel.

For the broader phone-system architecture, read How to Connect VoIP Phone Systems to GoHighLevel. To understand physical SIP hardware, see How to Connect a Physical VoIP Deskphone to GoHighLevel.

Does Dialpad Have a Native GoHighLevel Integration?

As of September 2026, we did not find GoHighLevel listed as a Dialpad-published integration in Dialpad’s current App Marketplace. HighLevel’s public feature request for a deeper Dialpad phone integration also remains marked under review.

Dialpad’s own integration guidance is useful here: if an integration is not listed in Dialpad’s marketplace, users should check the partner marketplace, work with Dialpad Professional Services, or build against Dialpad’s APIs. Dialpad also says integrations that are not listed in its marketplace are not validated Dialpad integrations.

The 4 Main Ways to Connect Dialpad With GoHighLevel

01
External Call Routing
Route a Main Line, Department or Contact Center fallback/IVR path to a HighLevel number.
02
API + Webhooks
Use Dialpad call events and APIs to update CRM records, tasks, opportunities or custom workflows.
03
Hybrid Number Use
Keep Dialpad for inbound service while testing eligible HighLevel outbound calling or hosted messaging.
04

Option 1: Route Dialpad Calls to HighLevel Voice AI

For a business that wants to keep Dialpad but use HighLevel for missed-call automation or an AI receptionist, group-level external routing is one of the cleanest options.

Dialpad’s current documentation allows supported Main Line, Department and Contact Center routing to send a caller to an external phone number. Depending on the routing method and account configuration, the company-level external-number setting may need to be enabled or Dialpad Customer Care may need to activate the capability.

Dialpad Main Line / Department / Contact Center Routing

The exact menu depends on whether you are configuring the Main Line, a Department or a Contact Center, but Dialpad’s current group-routing structure generally follows this pattern:

Dialpad → HighLevel External Routing
1
Open Dialpad Admin Settings
Choose the Main Line, Department or Contact Center that should route calls externally.
2
Open Business Hours & Call Routing
Select Edit Call Routing for the relevant open-hours, closed-hours or fallback path.
3
Choose the appropriate fallback or IVR option
Dialpad supports routing to a team member, room phone or number, including an external number in supported configurations.
4
Enter the HighLevel destination
Use the HighLevel-managed number configured for Voice AI, an inbound call flow or the appropriate team route.
5
Save the external-number destination
When using Dialpad’s IVR external-number field, press Enter after typing the destination so the number is actually saved.
6
Test with an outside phone
Confirm the call leaves Dialpad at the intended stage and reaches the correct HighLevel AI/team flow.

Three Practical Dialpad + HighLevel Voice AI Models

AFTER HOURS
Dialpad by Day, AI by Night
Dialpad handles normal business hours; closed-hours routing sends callers to HighLevel Voice AI.
FALLBACK
Humans First, AI Backup
Operators or agents ring first; the group fallback then routes unanswered callers to HighLevel.
IVR
Menu Option to HighLevel
A supported Dialpad automated response menu can send a selected caller path to an external HighLevel number.
External routing can add another call leg
Dialpad notes that forwarding to an external number may create outbound usage or per-minute charges because Dialpad places an outbound call leg to the external destination and bridges it to the caller.

Why Personal Dialpad Forwarding Numbers Need Extra Caution With Voice AI

Dialpad also lets an individual user add a forwarding number under Your Settings → Your Devices → Add New → Add a forwarding number. Dialpad calls the destination and asks the user to press 1 to verify it. Up to five forwarding numbers can be added to a user.

That feature is useful for ringing a mobile or another human-operated device, but it is not our preferred unattended Voice AI architecture.

Press-1 verification can interfere with automation
Dialpad says a forwarded-call verification prompt may still appear intermittently even when the forwarding prompt setting is disabled. An unattended HighLevel AI destination cannot be assumed to respond correctly to that verification prompt. Test carefully or use supported group-level external routing instead.

There is another limitation: Dialpad’s user-level forwarding applies to calls made to that user’s line. It does not automatically forward calls to a Department simply because that user is an operator in the Department.

View Dialpad’s forwarding-number setup.

Option 2: Connect Dialpad to GoHighLevel With APIs and Webhooks

For advanced deployments, Dialpad provides APIs and webhook-based call events that can support a custom CRM integration.

Dialpad’s current developer documentation says call-event subscriptions can be scoped across an entire company, office, Contact Center or individual user. Events are sent to a webhook endpoint as calls move through different states.

What Can Be Synchronized?

✓ Caller / external phone number
✓ Inbound or outbound direction
✓ Call state changes
✓ Dialpad user or group context
✓ Call timestamps
✓ Call IDs
✓ Follow-up task triggers
✓ Opportunity / pipeline updates

Depending on permissions and scope, a custom integration can also work with recording-related data. Dialpad’s current Call Event API documentation notes that including a recording URL requires the appropriate recordings_export OAuth scope.

API integration is not native telephony
Sending Dialpad call data into HighLevel can improve CRM visibility, but it does not make Dialpad the carrier behind HighLevel’s native dialer or LC Phone.

Can You Keep Your Existing Dialpad Number?

Yes. Keeping the existing number while testing HighLevel is often the lowest-risk approach.

OPTION A
Leave It in Dialpad
Use external routing or API integration while Dialpad continues handling the number and inbound service.
OPTION B
Use It for HighLevel Outbound Calls
HighLevel supports eligible outbound calling using a phone number the business already owns after verification.
OPTION C
Evaluate Hosted Messaging
Only if the specific number meets HighLevel’s Number Hosting eligibility requirements.
OPTION D
Port It Later
Move number ownership only when the HighLevel phone environment is ready.

Using a Dialpad Number for HighLevel Outbound Calling

HighLevel’s current phone system allows businesses to place outbound voice calls using a phone number they already own without purchasing or porting a HighLevel number first. The number must pass the applicable verification flow.

Outbound only
Using a verified Dialpad number for outbound HighLevel calling does not move Dialpad inbound calls, messaging, number ownership, groups, routing or billing into HighLevel.

See HighLevel’s existing-number calling guide.

Can Dialpad Keep Voice While HighLevel Handles SMS?

Potentially, but this is one of the areas where you should verify the number before changing anything.

HighLevel’s Number Hosting feature allows an eligible U.S. or Canadian number to remain with the original carrier for voice while SMS/MMS is routed through LC Phone.

Hosted Messaging Model
VOICE
Stays With Dialpad
Dialpad continues handling the voice path.
SMS / MMS
Potentially HighLevel
Only after number-specific eligibility, ownership verification and messaging compliance are confirmed.

HighLevel currently says hosted messaging is aimed at eligible U.S./Canadian local landline and toll-free numbers. Mobile numbers are not supported. A number that is already using SMS through another provider also creates an eligibility issue in its current configuration.

Because Dialpad commonly provides business SMS on its numbers, do not disable or migrate messaging simply to test Number Hosting. Confirm the exact number and migration path with HighLevel first.

See HighLevel’s current Number Hosting guidelines.

Should You Port a Dialpad Number to GoHighLevel?

Porting changes which carrier environment manages the number. It is appropriate when the business wants HighLevel to become the primary phone system — not simply when it wants better CRM follow-up.

BEFORE
Dialpad Manages the Number
Number → Dialpad → Users / Groups / AI / Routing
AFTER PORTING
HighLevel Manages the Number
Same Number → HighLevel → CRM / AI / Messaging / Routing

HighLevel’s September 2026 migration guidance distinguishes external-carrier porting from moves between LC Phone/Twilio environments. External carriers such as Dialpad use the applicable carrier port-in process. Eligible U.S. numbers may use HighLevel’s in-app Port-In workflow, while other situations use the applicable manual or international process.

Do not cancel Dialpad first
HighLevel explicitly advises businesses not to delete, release, disable, disconnect or cancel the existing number before a migration or port is confirmed complete. Keep the old service active until inbound calling, outbound calling, SMS and routing have been validated after cutover.

See HighLevel’s current Phone Number Migration & Porting Guide.

Consider Porting When

  • HighLevel will become the primary phone and CRM environment.
  • You no longer need Dialpad-specific routing, contact-center, AI or collaboration capabilities.
  • Every user, group, IVR, voicemail and business-hours rule has been documented.
  • Messaging and compliance have been planned before cutover.
  • The operational simplification is worth the migration effort.

Keep Dialpad When

  • Dialpad’s phone, AI or contact-center features are already working well.
  • Your main requirement is to add CRM automation rather than replace telephony.
  • External routing can solve the missed-call or after-hours problem.
  • API/webhook synchronization can provide the CRM visibility you need.
  • Your routing environment would be costly or risky to reproduce.

Can Existing Dialpad Deskphones Be Reused With HighLevel?

Sometimes, but do not assume that a deskphone used with Dialpad can automatically be moved to HighLevel.

Dialpad supports selected deskphone hardware and provisioning workflows. Reuse depends on the exact model, firmware, whether the device is locked or provider-managed, and whether you can configure it as a standard open-SIP endpoint.

If a compatible handset can be reset and manually configured for standard SIP registration, it may be a candidate for HighLevel’s SIP deskphone feature. Verify the exact model before changing a production phone.

Dialpad vs GoHighLevel: What Each Platform Is Better At

Need Dialpad GoHighLevel
Business calling Core strength Supported through HighLevel phone system
Contact center Strong dedicated capability Different product focus
CRM pipeline Integrates with CRMs Core strength
Marketing automation Not primary purpose Core strength
AI in calling Strong Dialpad AI ecosystem Strong when tied to CRM, workflows and booking
Automated lead nurture Not primary purpose Core strength

That is why the best answer is not always “replace Dialpad.” A business can keep Dialpad where it is strongest and use HighLevel for the CRM, pipeline, booking, nurturing and follow-up layer.

Which Dialpad + GoHighLevel Setup Should You Choose?

Your Goal Recommended Starting Point Why
Use HighLevel AI after hours Group External Routing Keeps Dialpad in place

Dialpad GoHighLevel Integration FAQs

Does Dialpad integrate natively with GoHighLevel?

We did not find a Dialpad-published GoHighLevel app in Dialpad’s current marketplace as of September 2026. HighLevel’s public Dialpad phone-integration request is also still marked under review. External routing and custom APIs/webhooks are the more clearly documented options today.

Can Dialpad forward calls to HighLevel?

Yes. Dialpad supports external-number destinations in supported Main Line, Department, Contact Center and IVR/fallback routing scenarios. Some configurations require a company setting or Dialpad Customer Care to enable external routing.

Can I forward Dialpad calls to HighLevel Voice AI?

Yes, using an appropriately configured external-number routing path. For unattended AI, group-level fallback or IVR external routing is generally preferable to a personal Dialpad forwarding-number device because Dialpad may intermittently require a Press 1 verification prompt on personal forwarded calls.

Can Dialpad call events be sent into HighLevel?

Yes, through a custom integration. Dialpad provides webhook-based call-event subscriptions that can be scoped to a company, office, Contact Center or user. An integration layer can use those events to update HighLevel contacts, notes, tasks, opportunities or workflows.

Can I use my Dialpad number for outbound HighLevel calls?

HighLevel supports eligible outbound voice calls using a verified number the business already owns. This is not the same as porting the number and does not move Dialpad inbound service into HighLevel.

Can I keep Dialpad for voice and use HighLevel for SMS?

Potentially, if the specific number qualifies for HighLevel Number Hosting. Because Dialpad numbers often already have SMS enabled, do not assume eligibility or disable Dialpad messaging without first confirming the correct HighLevel process.

Can I port my Dialpad number to HighLevel?

Potentially. Dialpad is an external carrier/VoIP environment, so the applicable HighLevel port-in process is used rather than an internal LC Phone migration. Eligibility and process depend on country and number type.

Can I reuse a Dialpad deskphone with HighLevel?

Possibly, if the exact phone can operate as an unlocked/open-SIP device and allows manual SIP registration. Do not assume all Dialpad-provisioned hardware can be reprovisioned.

Should I replace Dialpad with HighLevel?

Only if consolidation provides a clear benefit. If Dialpad’s calling, contact-center or AI features are already working well, keeping Dialpad and adding HighLevel for CRM automation may be the better architecture.

Connect Dialpad to the CRM Without Replacing the Phone System Overnight

Dialpad and GoHighLevel do not need to compete for the exact same role.

Dialpad can remain the calling platform while HighLevel manages CRM, opportunities, booking and automated follow-up. External routing can bring selected callers into HighLevel Voice AI. APIs and webhooks can synchronize important call events. Existing-number calling can help test HighLevel voice before a migration. Full porting can remain a later decision.

LeadMagno can map the existing Dialpad environment and determine which parts should stay in Dialpad, which interactions should route into HighLevel, and where CRM automation can improve the customer journey.
